Zolmitriptan is not approved for use in children and teens less than 18 years of age. One study of zolmitriptan tablets for migraines in adolescents ages 12 to 17 showed that zolmitriptan was not effective for this age group. Talk with your healthcare provider about the benefits and risks of using zolmitriptan to treat migraines in children and teens.
Off-Label Zolmitriptan Uses
On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend zolmitriptan for something other than the condition(s) discussed above. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, one off-label zolmitriptan use is the treatment of cluster headaches.
