Trihexyphenidyl
Trihexyphenidyl is used for treating Parkinson's disease and other similar conditions, as well as extrapyramidal symptoms caused by antipsychotic medications. It works by balancing the levels of dopamine and acetylcholine, chemicals in the body that become unbalanced with parkinsonism and extrapyramidal symptoms. The medication is available by prescription, comes in tablet and elixir form, and is generally taken three or four times daily.
