Trihexyphenidyl

Trihexyphenidyl is a drug that is used for treating Parkinson's disease (and other similar conditions) and extrapyramidal symptoms caused by antipsychotic medications. It works by balancing the levels of dopamine and acetylcholine, chemicals in the body that become unbalanced with parkinsonism and extrapyramidal symptoms. Trihexyphenidyl, which is available by prescription, comes in tablet and elixir form, and is generally taken three or four times daily.
