Torret Syndrome

Were you looking for information about Tourette Syndrome? Torret syndrome is a common misspelling of Tourette syndrome.

If you have Tourette syndrome, you may have symptoms such as repetitive involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics. This neurological disorder severely affects approximately 200,000 Americans, with men being three or four times more likely than women to have the condition. Although the causes of Tourette syndrome are unknown at this time, research indicates this condition may be hereditary. Because tic symptoms do not often cause harm, the majority of people who have the condition do not require any medication. However, effective medications are available for those whose symptoms interfere with functioning.
