Who Should Not Take Tolcapone?

You should not take tolcapone if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Tasmar, tolcapone, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
 
  • Have liver disease.
 
  • Have stopped taking tolcapone due to liver problems in the past.
 
  • Have experienced severe muscle pain (rhabdomyolysis) or the combination of confusion and a fever possibly related to any medication in the past.
