Important Information for Your Healthcare Provider

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking this medication if you have:
  • Kidney disease, such as kidney failure (renal failure)
  • Liver disease, such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, or liver failure
  • Heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias), including a condition known as congenital long QT syndrome
  • Been told you have electrolyte problems, such as low potassium or magnesium levels
  • Low white blood cell counts
  • A history of low white blood cells from taking another medication
  • A history of a seizure
  • Had an abnormal electroencephalography (EEG), a test that records the electrical activity of the brain
  • Had a tumor in your pituitary gland
  • Glaucoma
  • Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia
  • Prostate problems, such as benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH)
  • Problems with urination
  • Constipation or decreased gastrointestinal (bowel) motility (slowed movement of food through the intestinal tract)
  • A history of severe side effects to another antipsychotic medication
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Severe diarrhea or believe you may be dehydrated
  • Any allergies, including to foods, dyes, or preservatives.

Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
