Nuedexta Drug Interactions

Atomoxetine
Nuedexta may increase atomoxetine levels in your blood, increasing your risk for side effects. Your healthcare provider may choose to give you a lower atomoxetine dose if you take Nuedexta.

Beta Blockers
Combining Nuedexta with a beta blocker medication could increase the level of the beta blocker in your blood. This may cause low blood pressure or a slow heart rate. If you take a beta blocker, your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely when you first start or stop taking Nuedexta.

Calcium Channel Blockers
Combining a calcium channel blocker with Nuedexta may decrease Nuedexta blood levels in the body, potentially making it less effective. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibitors
Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors may increase Nuedexta blood levels, increasing your risk for side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Certain Statin Medications
Nuedexta may increase the level of certain statin medications in the blood, potentially increasing the risk for side effects. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Codeine
Codeine must be converted into morphine in the body to provide pain relief. Nuedexta decreases the amount of codeine converted into morphine, decreasing the effectiveness of codeine. If you take codeine with Nuedexta, you may notice that it does not work as well to relieve your pain. You may need a different pain medication.

Colchicine
Nuedexta increases blood levels of colchicine, which could increase your risk for potentially serious colchicine side effects. Do not take these medications without first talking to your healthcare provider. You may need a lower colchicine dose.
