Sumatriptan Transdermal Information

By returning blood vessels to their normal size, sumatriptan transdermal (ZecuityTM) can help relieve symptoms of migraine headaches in adults. As soon as a migraine starts, this patch is applied to the upper arm or thigh. Do not use more than two patches in a 24-hour period.

There is only one standard dosage for sumatriptan transdermal. However, if your headache returns or symptoms do not improve, you can use a second patch. Side effects are possible and may include pain, warmth, and itching at the application site.

Before using sumatriptan transdermal, your healthcare provider will need information on your medical history and any other medications, vitamins, or supplements you are using. He or she will also ask if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, whether you have any allergies, or if you have any heart-related problems.
