CRPS
At this point, the medical community isn't sure what causes complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), although it may be the result of problems in the central or peripheral nervous systems. Both men and women can develop CRPS, and it can affect people of all ages. Symptoms include chronic pain, increased skin sensitivity, and changes in skin color or texture.
There is currently no cure for CRPS, and treatment is designed to relieve pain and control symptoms. Options include psychotherapy, medications, and physical therapy, but your specific plan will depend on what type of CRPS you have, among other things.
