What Is Naratriptan Used For? (Cont.)

Naratriptan Use in Children and Teens

Naratriptan is not approved for children and teens less than 18 years of age. One study of naratriptan that involved adolescents 12 to 17 years of age showed that the medication was not effective for this age group. Talk to your healthcare provider about the benefits and risks of using naratriptan to treat migraines in children and teens.

Off-Label Naratriptan Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend naratriptan for something other than migraines. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, one off-label naratriptan use involves using the medication to treat cluster headaches.
