Drug Interactions With Naratriptan

Drug interactions with naratriptan may occur when the medicine is taken with other triptans, ergot medications, or certain antidepressants. Some drug interactions involving naratriptan and these medications can increase your risk of dangerous side effects. For example, combining naratriptan with certain antidepressants (such as Prozac, Paxil, or Zoloft) can cause a dangerous group of symptoms known as serotonin syndrome.

An Overview of Drug Interactions With Naratriptan

Naratriptan hydrochloride (Amerge®) can potentially interact with certain medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to naratriptan interactions include:

    • Bromocriptine (Parlodel®)
    • Dihydroergotamine (Migranal®)
    • Ergotamine (Bellamine S, Cafergot®, Ergomar®)
