Motor Neuron Disease (Cont.)

Prognosis With Motor Neuron Disease

A person's prognosis with motor neuron disease will depend on the type of disease and the age that the disease began. Some types of motor neuron disease progress slowly and are not fatal. For example, individuals with spinal muscular atrophy disorders may appear to be stable for long periods, although they will never improve. On the other hand, ALS is eventually fatal.
