The dosage of
ezogabine (
Potiga™) your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
- Your age
- How you respond to the medication
- Other medications you are taking
- Other medical conditions you may have (especially liver or kidney problems).
As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.
Recommended Ezogabine Dosing Guidelines for Seizures
The recommended starting dose for treating partial-onset
seizures is 100 mg taken three times daily. Your healthcare provider may increase this amount at weekly intervals, if necessary. Most people typically take 200 mg to 400 mg three times daily.
Lower ezogabine dosages may be recommended for people with liver or kidney disease. Similarly, lower dosages are recommended for people over the age of 65. For older individuals, the usual starting dose is 50 mg taken three times daily, and the maximum amount is 250 mg taken three times daily.
