Drug Interactions With Ethotoin

Calcium, allopurinol, and certain antacids are among the products that can cause problems when used in combination with ethotoin. Drug interactions such as these may change how your body absorbs ethotoin or may increase your risk for side effects. Before beginning treatment with it, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any medicines, vitamins, or supplements you are taking.

Allopurinol
Allopurinol may increase the level of ethotoin in the bloodstream, perhaps increasing the risk of ethotoin side effects. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together, or before stopping one of these medications if you are taking them together.
