Apomorphine hydrochloride (Apokyn®) can potentially interact with several different medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to apomorphine interactions include:
- Blood pressure medications
- Diuretics ("water pills")
- Medications that can cause an arrhythmia known as QT prolongation (see QT-Prolonging Medications for more information)
- Nitrates, such as:
- Isosorbide dinitrate (BiDil®, Dilatrate® SR, Isochron™, Isordil®)
- Isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur®, Ismo®, Monoket®)
- Nitroglycerin tablets or capsules (Nitrostat®, Nitro-Time®)
- Nitroglycerin ointment (Nitro-Bid®)
- Nitroglycerin anal ointment (Rectiv™)
- Nitroglycerin patches (Minitran®, Nitro-Dur®)
- Nitroglycerin spray (Nitrolingual®, NitroMist®)
- 5HT3 antagonists, such as:
- Alosetron (Lotronex®)
- Dolasetron (Anzemet®)
- Granisetron (Kytril®)
- Ondansetron (Zofran®, Zuplenz™)
- Palonosetron (Aloxi®).
