Lioresal Drug Interactions

If you combine alcohol, sleep medications, or antidepressants with Lioresal, drug interactions may occur. Combining it with any medication that causes drowsiness or sedation may increase the risk of severe drowsiness, confusion, or dizziness. To reduce the risk of drug interactions, talk with your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including your daily consumption of alcohol.

Lioresal Interactions: An Overview

Lioresal® (baclofen) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Lioresal include but are not limited to:
 
  • Alcoholic beverages (or other products that contain alcohol)
  • Antidepressant medications
  • Antihistamines (including many nonprescription cold, cough, allergy, motion sickness, and sleep medications)
  • Antipsychotics, such as:
 
 
  • Barbiturates, such as:
 
    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)
 
  • Benzodiazepine sedatives, such as:
 
 
  • Muscle relaxants, such as:
 
 
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), such as:
