Drug Interactions With Levetiracetam

Levetiracetam (Keppra®) is a prescription epilepsy medication used to treat certain types of seizures. Most seizure medications interact with many other medications. Levetiracetam, however, is not likely to interact with other medications. This is a potential advantage of levetiracetam over other seizure medications. In studies, when levetiracetam was taken with certain other medications, no interactions occurred (or insignificant interactions, which are unlikely to cause problems, occurred).

However, levetiracetam has not been studied in combination with every medication. Therefore, it is possible that there are levetiracetam drug interactions that are not known at this time. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about any specific levetiracetam interactions that may apply to you.
