Fingolimod (Gilenya™) is a medication prescribed for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS) in adults age 18 and older. This medicine helps to prevent relapses and to delay the development of physical disability caused by MS. It comes in capsule form and is taken once a day. Although most people tolerate it well, side effects are possible and may include headaches, diarrhea, and back pain.
