Drug Interactions With Fingolimod

When beta blockers, immunosuppressants, or certain arrhythmia medications are taken with fingolimod, drug interactions may occur. These reactions can decrease the effectiveness of the medications or lead to potentially serious side effects. To help reduce your risk for complications, tell your healthcare provider if you are taking any other medications before starting treatment.

An Overview of Fingolimod Interactions

Fingolimod (Gilenya™) could potentially react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that may interact with fingolimod include but are not limited to:
 
 
  • Class Ia or III arrhythmia medications, such as:
     
    • Amiodarone (Cordarone®, Pacerone®)
    • Disopyramide (Norpace®, Norpace® CR)
    • Dofetilide (Tikosyn®)
    • Ibutilide (Corvert®)
    • Procainamide
    • Quinidine
    • Sotalol (Betapace®)
 
  • Immunosuppressants, such as:
     
 
 
 
 
  • Vaccines.
