Valproate
Valproate medications can increase the level of extended-release lamotrigine in your blood, possibly increasing your risk of side effects. Taking these medications together can increase your risk of a life-threatening skin rash (see Lamictal Rash). Your healthcare provider will recommend a lower extended-release lamotrigine dosage if you are taking a valproate medication.
It is possible that not all interactions were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about any specific extended-release lamotrigine drug interactions that may apply to you.
