Eldepryl Drug Interactions

Eldepryl Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Eldepryl is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Apraclonidine (Iopidine)
You should not use apraclonidine eye drops while taking Eldepryl, due to the risk of dangerously high blood pressure (hypertension).

Atomoxetine (Strattera)
Strattera and Eldepryl should not be taken together or within two weeks of each other, due to the risks of dangerous side effects.

Brimonidine (Alphagan P, Combigan)
You should not use brimonidine eye drops while taking Eldepryl, due to the risk of dangerously high blood pressure.

Buspirone (BuSpar)
You should not take buspirone while taking Eldepryl (or even if you have taken Eldepryl within the past 14 days), due to the risk of dangerously high blood pressure.

Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril)
Do not take cyclobenzaprine and Eldepryl within two weeks of each other, due to the risk of dangerous side effects, such as high blood pressure or seizures.

Entacapone (Comtan, Stalevo)
Combining entacapone and Eldepryl can lead to dangerous side effects. If your healthcare provider recommends that you take entacapone with Eldepryl, you may need to be monitored closely.

Levodopa Medications (Parcopa, Sinemet, Sinemet CR, Stalevo)
Eldepryl is approved for use in combination with levodopa. However, many people who take these medications together will need to have their levodopa dosage reduced, due to an increased risk of levodopa side effects.

Many Cough, Cold, and Allergy Products
Taking Eldepryl with many cough, cold, and allergy products (including eye drops or nasal products) can increase your risk of dangerous side effects, such as high blood pressure. Most of these products should never be taken with Eldepryl. Always check with your healthcare provider before taking any cough, cold, or allergy products.
