Strengths of Diazepam Rectal Gel

Diazepam rectal gel is available in the following strengths:
 
  • Diazepam rectal gel 2.5 mg syringes
  • Diazepam rectal gel 10 mg syringes, which can be set to deliver 5 mg, 7.5 mg, or 10 mg
  • Diazepam rectal gel 20 mg syringes, which can be set to deliver 10 mg, 12.5 mg, or 20 mg.
     
The 20-mg syringe comes with a rectal tip that is too large for most children.
 
The 10- and 20-mg syringes must be set by your pharmacist to the correct dose. Do not leave the pharmacy without making sure that the correct dose has been set.
 

Is There a Generic Version of Diazepam Rectal Gel?

Currently, there is no generic diazepam rectal gel licensed for sale (see Generic Diastat).
