Who Should Not Take Depakene?

You should not take Depakene if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Depakene, valproic acid sodium, or any inactive components used to make Depakene. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have liver disease.
     
  • Have a urea cycle disorder.
