IV Dantrolene Dosage
When prescribing dantrolene sodium (Dantrium®), the prescribed dosage will depend on whether you are receiving the IV (intravenous) form or the capsules. Other factors that may affect your individual amount include your age, how you respond to the medicine, and other medications you are taking.
Dantrolene capsules are usually taken by mouth three to four times a day. The injection is given through a needle into a vein (an intravenous, or IV, injection). Dantrolene capsules are approved to control muscle spasticity associated with certain neurological conditions. They are also approved for use in treating a condition known as malignant hyperthermia. Dantrolene IV is approved for use in malignant hyperthermia.
