Clobazam

Clobazam is licensed to treat seizures that occur due to a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. It works by slowing down certain nerve signals in the brain, and should only be used in combination with other seizure medications. Aggression, fever, and lethargy are some of the drug's possible side effects. This medication comes in the form of a tablet.

What Is Clobazam?

Clobazam (Onfi™) is a prescription medication approved to treat seizures in people with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS). It is approved for use only along with other seizure medications and can be used in adults and children as young as two years old.

Are There Side Effects?

Just like any medicine, clobazam may cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
 
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
 
Common clobazam side effects include but are not limited to:
 
  • Drowsiness
  • Fever
  • Lethargy
  • Aggression.
